Men's and Women's Tennis Honored With ITA Academic Awards

TEMPE, Ariz -- The Creighton men's and women's tennis teams each earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team awards, the association announced on Thursday.
More than 4,200 scholar-athletes were recognized across all divisions, along with over 700 all-academic teams.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). The Creighton men's team finished with a 3.59 cumulative team GPA, while the women earned a 3.43.
Aaron Chalstrom, Quinn Dippel, Jake Glazer, Brooks Kendall, Michael Koch, Harrison Lang, Anthony Rauschenbach and Nick Thompson also earned ITA Scholar-Athlete status on the men's side and Sam Anderson, Claire Embree, Simone Hussussian, Karlin Naslund and Darby Rosette were honored on the women's team. Each of the 13 scholar-athletes were letter-winners and accumulated a GPA of 3.50 or higher during the 2015-16 academic year.
Both teams return to Omaha in August for the start of the academic year. Fall competition begins Sept. 16 for the women, and Sept. 23 for the men.
