Eck fans career-high 12 batters in win over Western Michigan, finishes with 19 total K's
Junior first baseman Jen Daro went a combined four-for-five on the day, belting three home runs and driving in 10 runs in the two wins.
Fellow junior Sydnee Eck earned the win in the circle in both contests, striking out a total of 19 batters in 11 and two-thirds innings of work.
"Sydnee [Eck] had a pair of strong performances," Creighton head coach Brent Vigness said. "We needed her to step up, so for her to pitch so well in back-to-back outings was huge for us."
The Bluejays are 3-1 in four games in the Troy Cox Classic, hosted by New Mexico State.
Creighton will conclude the tournament with a matchup versus host New Mexico State beginning at 10:00 a.m.

CAMPBELL
The Bluejays (4-5) strung together four consecutive multi-run frames to erase a 2-0 deficit and earn an 11-3 victory over Campbell, Creighton's second win over the Fighting Camels in as many days.
Less than 24 hours after allowing six earned runs and four walks in a shortened, one-and-two-third-inning start, Campbell starter, Katie Baker, allowed just two Creighton hits through her first three innings of work on Saturday. However, the Bluejays coaxed Baker into issuing five walks in the fourth and fifth innings, and Creighton's Daro hit a three-run, fourth-inning homer to turn the tide in Creighton's favor.
Daro's go-ahead home run came in the top of the fourth inning, lifting Creighton ahead of Campbell, 3-2. The junior first baseman drove in another run in the fifth on a single to left center, extending the Bluejays' lead to 5-2.
Creighton capitalized on several Campbell tactical errors in the later innings—two fielding errors, two illegal pitches, two wild pitches, and a passed ball—to put the Fighting Camels away.
Five Bluejay players recorded hits, including Daro (2-for-3, 4 RBI) and Kelsey Allender (3-for-4, 2 R, 1 RBI).
Freshman lefthander got the start for Creighton, pitching two and one-third innings, allowing a pair of earned runs.
Eck tossed four and two-third innings in relief. Eck allowed one earned run and struck out seven batters to earn her second win of the season.

WESTERN MICHIGAN
Daro's stellar day continued in the Bluejays' second game of the day, as she slugged a go-ahead, three-run homer—her second of the day—in Creighton's first frame versus Western Michigan. Her home run scored Allie Reinhart and Erin McGonigal after McGonigal entered as a pinch runner for Blake Ringle.
Creighton's 3-1 lead remained in tact for the next three innings, and Daro then sealed the win in the fifth.
Daro turned on a full-count pitch, hitting a three-run home run for the second time in the contest and extending the Bluejays' lead to 6-1. The Omaha native finished with six RBI in the game, going two-for-two at the plate, drawing a walk, and stealing a base.
After finishing Game One minutes earlier, Eck got the start in Game Two. In Creighton's second win of the day, Eck shone, striking out a career-high 12 batters, allowing just one run, and notching the complete-game victory.
