Men's Soccer Ranked No. 25 In This Week's United Soccer Coaches Poll

The No. 25 Bluejays play No. 24 UNO on Tuesday night
OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton men's soccer team checked in at No. 25 in this week's United Soccer Coaches Top 25, the organization released on Tuesday, Sept. 26.
The Bluejays finished last week 2-0 with home victories against Tulsa (2-1 OT) and Villanova (2-0).
Creighton (5-3-0, 1-1-0 BIG EAST) returned to the poll after being left out of the rankings last week and listed with teams receiving votes during the first two polls in the month of September.
The Bluejays are one of three BIG EAST programs included in the Sept. 26 poll. Georgetown is No. 14 (6-1-1, 1-1-0 BIG EAST), while Butler (6-2-0, 2-0-0 BIG EAST)Â claimed the No. 22 position.Â
Creighton plays Nebraska-Omaha tonight (Tuesday) at Caniglia Field. The Mavericks are ranked No. 24 in this week's United Soccer Coaches Top 25. Kickoff for tonight's match is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The Bluejays are 3-1 all-time against teams ranked No. 24 in the coaches poll, with the last matchup coming against No. 24 Marquette on Oct. 29, 2014 (2-0 win).
Creighton is 77-54-15 all-time against the Top 25 and 28-25-10 during road-Top 25 matches. This season the Bluejays are 0-2 with losses at home against then-No. 17 Virigina Tech (2-0) and on the road versus then-No. 1 Stanford (3-0).
Senior Ricky Lopez-Espin leads the Jays' offense with 10 points from four goals and two assists, while goalkeeper Michael Kluver owns three shutouts through the first eight matches.
Creighton is also No. 28 in the College Soccer News Top 30 poll released on Sunday.Â
Following tonight's match against UNO, the Bluejays will prepare for a BIG EAST contest at Seton Hall on Saturday at noon Central.Â
