Men's Basketball Ranks Top-10 in Home Attendance For Sixth Straight Season

Creighton averaged more than 17,400 fans last year
OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton Men's Basketball team has finished in the top-10 nationally in average home attendance for the sixth straight season, according to figures released by the NCAA on Tuesday.
Creighton attracted 296,013 fans to CenturyLink Center Omaha in 17 home dates, good for an average of 17,413 to place fifth in the country. That fifth-place mark ties the highest-mark in school history, as the 2013-14 team also finished fifth when it attracted a program-record 17,896 fans per game.
Creighton was one of 14 schools to increase its home attendance average by more than 1,000 fans from 2015-16, finishing ninth in that category with an upgrade of 1,471. The Bluejays were 11th overall for total attendance, as 475,768 fans overall saw them play at home, road and neutral sites, a figure that ranked tops in the BIG EAST.
Kentucky led the nation for the 10th time in the last 12 years with 23,461 fans per home game, just ahead of Syracuse (21,181). Louisville (20,846) and North Carolina (18,067) also finished ahead of Creighton.
Creighton has now ranked in the top-25 nationally in average home attendance each of the last 12 seasons, and has led its conference in home attendance each of the past 14 seasons.
As a whole, the BIG EAST ranked fifth nationally with 10,014 fans per home game while attracting more than 1.7 million fans. The BIG EAST Tournament ranked second nationally all among conference tournaments by averaging 17,556 fans per session at Madison Square Garden.
