Omaha, Neb. -- Following a tough four-match road trip to open the 2017 season, the Creighton women's soccer team opens its home schedule against South Dakota State on Sunday, Sept. 3 at 1:00 pm.

Series History: Creighton leads South Dakota State, 10-1-1
Similar to the series with Coyotes, Creighton has dominated the series with South Dakota State. Creighton, however, fell in the last home battle with the Jackrabbits in 2015. South Dakota State claimed that match 1-0 on Sept. 6, 2015. The last five meetings between the two squads have yielded one goal outcomes.

The Jackrabbits return six starters and 16 letterwinners from last season. South Dakota State was picked to finish second in the Summit League preseason poll.
Before coming to Omaha, the Jackrabbits host Iowa State on Friday, Sept. 1.
South Dakota State dropped a one-sided battle at #20 Utah on Aug. 20, but has played three one-goal matches otherwise. The Jackrabbits bested North Dakota (1-0), but fell to UMKC and Utah State.
Leah Manuleleua and Marisa Schulz each have one goal for South Dakota State this season, while Nicole Hatcher has two assists.
Maggie Smither has seen all but 13 minutes in goal for the Jackrabbits this season, allowing a 1.59 goals against average (six goals).

After opening the 2017 with four very tough road games the Bluejays kickoff their home schedule on Sunday against South Dakota State.
Creighton is 17-7-4 in home opening matches, including a 5-3 win over Iowa last season on Aug. 19.
The battle with the Jackrabbits will be latest home opener since Creighton faced South Dakota State in its first home match on Sept. 4, 2004.
