CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. -- Creighton University's Kelsey Petersen, Sarah Eversman and Caroline Lake are among 952 collegiate golfers recognized by the Women's Golf Coaches Association as All-American Scholars.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50. The 2016-17 WGCA All-American Scholar Teams can be found at http://www.gocreighton.com//documents/2017/7/5//WGCA_AllScholar_Release_1617.pdf?id=12525.
Petersen a senior last year, Eversman a junior and Lake a sophomore. Petersen was honored for the fourth consecutive year, Eversman earned a third straight recognition and Lake her second accolade in as many years.
Creighton's three honorees were tied for the fourth-most in the BIG EAST.
The Bluejays, who placed sixth at the BIG EAST Championships in April, are coached by Debbie Conry. Creighton has owned a top-25 GPA nationally each of the previous three years, including a 21st-place showing last year. The 2016-17 team academic awards will be announced later this month.
