Baseball Drops Series Final at Seton Hall, 1-0

South Orange, N.J. -- Looking to sweep the road series as well as a Saturday doubleheader, the Creighton Baseball team suffered a 1-0 loss to the Pirates on May 6.
The loss dropped the Bluejays to 21-18 on the season and 10-3 in BIG EAST play, while Seton Hall moved to 24-20 overall and 7-8 in conference action.
Seton Hall starter Zach Predergast limited Creighton seven hits in a complete game victory to move to 6-2 on the season. The Bluejays countered with an equally strong performance from junior Keith Rogalla, allowing one run on four hits in seven innings. Rogalla took the tough luck loss to fall to 2-3 on the season.
The lone run of the game crossed the plate in the third as Seton Hall's Jackson Martin lifted a leadoff double to left. After moving to third on a sacrifice, Martin came in to score on a ball up the middle that glanced off Rogalla as well as shortstop Thomas Luevano into center field.
Predergast sat Creighton down in order just twice, but only allowed two Bluejays to reach in one inning during the third. That frame saw back-to-back singles from senior Bryce Only and junior Kyle Lopez with one down. Both runners moved up 90 feet on a ground out from sophomore Clark Brinkman, but another groundout ended Creighton's threat.
Sophomore Thomas Luevano led the Creighton offense with two hits in the contest as the Bluejays were shut out for the second time this season.
The Bluejays return to action on Tuesday, May 9 as Creighton faces Nebraska-Omaha in a road contest in Werner Park at 6:35 pm
