Michaela Henne Named BIG EAST Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week

Sophomore finished Florida trip 4-0 in singles and 3-1 in doubles
OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton women's tennis sophomore Michaela Henne earned BIG EAST Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week honors, the league announced on Wednesday morning.
Henne finished the Bluejays' spring break trip in Orlando, Fla. with a perfect 4-0 record in singles play and 3-1 performance in doubles action, while the team finished 3-1 overall.
The sophomore holds a seven-match winning streak in singles action and leads Creighton with a 10-3 singles record. She has dropped only one set during her winning streak. The Kansas City, Mo. native is also 7-6 in doubles play, including 6-4 with senior Katherine Nelsen.Â
Henne is the third Creighton women's tennis player to earn BIG EAST Athlete of the Week status, joining Jennie Hartjes (Feb. 11, 2014) and Sam Anderson (Feb. 17, 2016).
The Bluejays are back in action on Friday and Saturday in Sioux Falls, S.D. Creighton will play North Dakota on Friday night before facing South Dakota on Saturday. Both matches are scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
