Women's Tennis Falls To Wyoming In Lincoln

Bluejays drop neutral site match against Cowgirls
LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Creighton women's tennis team fell 7-0 against Wyoming on Friday night at the Dillon Tennis Center in Lincoln, Neb.
The Bluejays are now 2-2 this season, and Wyoming is 3-1.
The Cowgirls secured the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 slots. Darby Rosette and Kendra Lavallee picked up a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles for the Jays' lone victory on Friday.
Wyoming continued to control the match with three straight-sets victories to clinch the overall dual. The Cowgirls won 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 2 position, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 and 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1.
Creighton dropped each of the opening sets in singles action, but Lavallee (No. 6) came closest to a first-set win. Lavallee trailed 3-2 and 5-4, before falling 7-5.
"Kendra had chances in the first set, and played great in doubles with Darby," head coach Tom Lilly said.
Wyoming responded from the close win in the opening set at No. 6 slot with a 6-2 second-set win.
The Cowgirls completed the 7-0 overall win without dropping a set in singles action.
