Men's Basketball Ranked 25th in AP Poll; 24th in Coaches Poll

Creighton is nationally ranked in a pair of polls this week
OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton men's basketball team is ranked 25th in this week's Associated Press Top 25 poll and 24th in the USA Today Coaches poll.
It's the second time this season that CU's been in the AP's top 25, as the team was also 25th in the poll released on Nov. 27th.
Creighton has now been ranked in the AP poll in 86 weeks in program history, with 58 of those under the direction of eighth-year head coach Greg McDermott.
Creighton is one of 11 teams with multiple AP Top 25 victories this season, and one of 12 teams with a true road win over an AP Top 25 club this winter.
The Bluejays are one of four BIG EAST teams that are nationally ranked by the AP this week, joining No. 1 Villanova, No. 9 Xavier and No. 23 Seton Hall. The only two teams to beat Creighton this year are also both ranked by the AP, with Gonzaga coming in 12th and Baylor tied for 18th.
Creighton's No. 24 designation in the USA Today Coaches Poll marks the third time this year the Bluejays have been ranked in that poll, and second consecutive. The program was also No. 23 on November 27th and No. 25 last Monday. Creighton has been ranked in 67 different weeks under Greg McDermott by the coaches.
Creighton returns to the court tonight with an 8:00 p.m. game against UT Arlington. The game will air on 1620 AM, as well as FS1. The Bluejays also host USC Upstate on Wednesday in another 8 p.m. contest that will air on 1620 AM and FS1.
