Women's Tennis Sweeps William Jewell In Home-Opener

Bluejays win each individual match in straight-sets
OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton women's tennis team defeated William Jewell 7-0 during its home-opener on Saturday night at the Hanscom Tennis Center.
The Bluejays improved to 2-1 on the season.
Creighton opened the evening by dropping a total of four games across the three doubles matches. Michaela Henne and Kendra Lavallee paired up for a 6-1 win at No. 3, Claire Embree and Hylan Miller tallied a 6-1 win at No. 2 and Ashley Ishimura and Darby Rosette picked up a 6-2 win at No. 1.
The Jays had similar success in singles play.
Henne, Embree and Lavellee did not lose a game at the No. 4, 5, and 6 positions, respectively.
Ishimura battled to a 7-5 win in the first-set at No. 1, before winning 6-0 in the second to win in straight-sets.
Miller recorded a 6-0, 6-4 win and helped Creighton claim the victory with the fourth team point of the night, while Rosette won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 singles.

"Our girls took care of business tonight," head coach Tom Lilly said. "There were a couple of momentum changes in singles, but we were able to get the momentum right back and everyone played hard mentally and physically.
"We have a very talented group and need to make sure we keep working together as a team to reach our potential."
