Men's Basketball Ranks Top-10 in Home Attendance For Fifth Straight Season

Creighton averaged 15,941 fans per home game in 2015-16
OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton Men's Basketball team has finished in the top-10 nationally in average home attendance for the fifth straight season, according to figures released by the NCAA on Wednesday.
Creighton attracted 302,887 fans to CenturyLink Center Omaha in 19 home dates, good for an average of 15,941 to place 10th. The team could have been eighth with an average of 17,065 if not for a pair of home National Invitation Tournament games that dropped CU two spots.
Kentucky led the nation for the ninth time in the last 11 years with 23,361 fans per home game, taking the top spot over from two-time defending attendance champ Syracuse (21,592). Louisville, North Carolina and Maryland also finished in the top-five, while the top-10 was rounded out by Wisconsin, Indiana, North Carolina State, Kansas and Creighton.
Creighton has now ranked in the top-25 nationally in average home attendance each of the last 11 seasons, and has led its conference in home attendance each of the past 13 seasons.
As a whole, the BIG EAST ranked fifth nationally with 9,595 fans per home game while attracting nearly 1.7 million fans. The BIG EAST Tournament ranked fourth nationally among conference tournament by averaging 15,644 fans per session.
