2/18/2016 3:30:00 PM | Women's Basketball
Omaha, Neb. - Creighton's annual Pink Game will feature a battle with the Marquette Golden Eagles on Friday, Feb. 19 at 7:01 pm.
The Golden Eagles sweep home contests with Butler and Xavier last weekend to move back over .500. Marquette has struggled away from home this season, going just 1-6 in conference and 3-10 overall.
In the first meeting the Golden Eagles took advantage of Creighton with their press, forcing 14 turnovers. Several of those mishaps came during an 18-0 run for Marquette spanning the end of the first quarter to the middle of the second.
Freshman Allazia Blockton led the Golden Eagles with 21 points in the first matchup.

Just Short
The last two outcomes for the Bluejays have provided a tough pill to swallow. Creighton has fallen to both Xavier and Providence by just two points in its last two outings. Four times this season the Bluejays have dropped a game by less than five points, going 2-4 in contests decided by such a small margin.

Bird Seeds:
- Friday's battle between the Bluejays and the Golden Eagles has significant seeding implications for both teams. Creighton has four BIG EAST contests remaining and enters play in eighth. Marquette has three games left and sits in sixth place entering Friday.
- Marquette took the first game between the two squads, looking to even the series with Creighton at 3-3 since the two teams have become BIG EAST foes.
- Two freshman will be featured as Creighton's Audrey Faber is one of the Bluejays' focal points, while Marquette looks to Freshman of the Year candidate Allazia Blockton. Each player leads her respective team in scoring this season.Â

Keys to the Game w/Marquette
- Handling the pressure: Marquette will pressure the ball in the back court as much as possible. Creighton didn't handle the press very well in the first meeting.
- The Paint: Marquette got 48 points in the paint on Jan. 24. While Creighton lacks a true post presence outside of Rollerson, the Bluejays must find a way to improve in the post against the Golden Eagles.
- Limiting second chance points: The Bluejays outrebounded Marquette, 45-41, in the first meeting. Despite that Creighton lost on second chance points, 12-9.
