Anderson Named BIG EAST Women's Tennis Player of the Week

NEW YORK - After helping Creighton to a 5-2 victory over crosstown opponent, Omaha, Creighton senior Sam Anderson has been named BIG EAST Women's Tennis Player of the Week.
Anderson went unbeaten in the Bluejays' come-from-behind win over Omaha last Wednesday, teaming with Claire Embree to earn a 7-5 win at No. 2 Doubles, and winning at No. 5 Singles, 6-2, 6-1.
The Thompson, N.D., native was one of five Bluejays to record singles wins, helping Creighton erase a 2-0 match deficit in order to clinch the 5-2 victory.
Anderson's three singles wins this season is tied for a team-best with Ashley Ishimura.
