Bird Seeds
- Creighton and Northern Iowa have met twice since the Bluejays left the Missouri Valley Conference for the BIG EAST at the start of the 2013-14 season. Creighton has won both of those meetings as has claimed the last six with the Panthers.
- Northern Iowa head coach Tanya Warren played for the Bluejays from 1983-88 and is one of two players to have their jersey retired (the other being Connie Yori). Warren also served as an associate head coach under current Creighton counterpart, Jim Flanery, from 2004-07 before taking the reigns of the Panthers prior to the 2007-08 season.
- Under Flanery's guidance the Bluejays are 18-9 against Northern Iowa, including 12 of 16 victories against Warren.
- The Bluejays split their first two contests against MVC opponents, falling at Wichita State and defeating Drake.
- Sophomore Audrey Faber is coming off her best performance of the season, scoring 24 in the Bluejays 82-45 win over Nebraska-Omaha on Wednesday.
- Senior Marissa Janning needs just seven points on Saturday to move into fifth in Bluejay history in scoring. She enters the game with 1,623 points in her career.
- The Bluejays lead the overall series with the Panthers 37-16, inclduing the last six consecutive meetings. Creighton holds a 14-11 edge at Northern Iowa. Since Flanery took over Creighton has an 18-9 advantage and has won 12 of 16 meetings since Warren took over UNI. The last meeting in Cedar Falls saw the Bluejays rally from down 18 to claim a 58-56 win on Dec. 8, 2014. Last season the Bluejays posted a 69-61 win at home on Dec. 22, 2015.

- Slow Down Weekly: Madison Weekly is a talented offenisve player, both scoring and as a distrubtor. She leads the Panthers in both points (124) and assists (27).
- Win the turnover battle: Northern Iowa and Creighton both stress taking care of the basketball. This season, however, the Bluejays have had more success causing chaos defensively.
