Marcus Foster Named BIG EAST Men's Basketball Player of the Week

OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton Basketball's Marcus Foster was named BIG EAST Player of the Week for the second time this season on Monday, Dec. 26th.

Foster had a season-high 29 points in Creighton's 96-85 win at Arizona State last Tuesday. Foster made 10-of-18 shots from the floor and 6-of-8 shots at the line while adding four rebounds, three assists and two steals.

The junior guard from Wichita Falls, Texas, had 17 points after the break, including the team's final four points from the free throw line to hold off ASU's upset bid.

The victory allowed Creighton to match its best start (12-0) in 74 years, and was the team's nation-leading sixth victory over a "Football 5" Conference team this winter.

Foster was previously honored by the BIG EAST on Nov. 28^th after helping Creighton to the Paradise Jam title and earning MVP honors for the event.

No. 10 Creighton returns to the court on Wednesday night at 7 pm when it hosts Seton Hall to begin league play.
