The previous meeting was also in Brookings, as the Jackrabbits ended Creighton's season with a 62-51 win in the WNIT on March 14, 2014.

Scouting South Dakota State (7-2)
The Jackrabbits always present a tough game for Creighton. Coached by Aaron Johnston, South Dakota State is a disciplined team that shoots the long ball at high volume. The Jackrabbits hit eight against Northern Iowa and have 44 in their last four contests.
The Jackrabbits have had an intriguing start to their season. South Dakota State has played away from the friendly confines of Frost Arena just three times, all in the even more friendly Virgin Islands. South Dakota State is 5-1 in six home games, falling to #3 Notre Dame on Nov. 21 (75-64). In the Virgin Islands the Jackrabbits lone loss came to #6 Maryland, 62-55.
SDSU is led by guards Macy Miller and Kerri Young, who average a combined 30.5 ppg. Miller leads the way with 17.9 ppg, including reaching double figures in each contest. Although Miller and Young handle the bulk of the scoring, post player Ellie Thompson hoisted 20 shots against Northern Iowa in the last game. In that contest Thompson scored 23 of her 80 points on the season.

MC McGrory made a statement worthy of dropping the mic (microphone) against Utah on Dec. 9, scoring 24 points. McGrory's efforts opened the game 9-of-9 from the field and 2-for-2 from the free throw line. After missing her only field goal of the night, she canned two more from the charity stripe.

Keys to the Game w/South Dakota State
- Home Court Advantage: The biggest advantage the Bluejays have maybe the court. Creighton hasn't been home since Nov. 15, a seven-game stretch. South Dakota State will be playing its first true road game of the season. Â
- Consistency: Over the last three games, the Bluejays been unstoppable in the first quarter. Over the next three quarters, Creighton has been more fallible. Creighton needs to find more consistency over the final 30 minutes.
- Winning the battle on the perimeter: Though it will be a tough task. If the Bluejays can win the battle of the guards, they will be in excellent shape to end their three-game losing streak.
