OMAHA, Neb. -
Following a series sweep of Dallas Baptist, the Creighton Baseball team looks
to continue its hot start (3-0) at the Lamar Tournament this weekend.
Last Week:
Creighton smashed a combined 45 hits, including 39 singles
as the Jays swept a three-game series from Dallas Baptist in Dallas last
weekend. Creighton won all three
contests in comeback fashion as the Bluejays scored 24 of their 29 runs in the
sixth inning or later.
This Week:
The Jays look to continue their hot start in 2013 as
Creighton travels to Beaumont, Texas to take part in the Lamar YMBL Cardinal
Classic. The Jays open the tournament on
Friday, Feb. 22 at 2 p.m. against Washington, then face Lamar later that night
at 6 p.m. Creighton will face Lamar a second time on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 4:30
p.m., then wrap up the tournament against Washington at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Feb.

Jays vs. Washington:
Creighton has a 3-3 series record with Washington, but the
last meeting between the two squads came in 2000, a 14-3 Creighton win. The Bluejays have taken the last three
contests with the Huskies.
Jays vs. Lamar:
The Bluejays and Cardinals have met two times previously
with each team taking one game. The last
meeting came on Feb. 24, 2007 as the Cardinals evened the series with a 12-3
win.
