Sarah Garland joined the Creighton women's soccer staff in
the spring of 2013 as a volunteer assistant coach. With the Bluejays, she will specifically work
with goalkeepers.
Garland spent two seasons as keeper in the West Coast Conference, playing for the University of San Francisco Dons from 2008-09. Garland moved on to complete her playing career at UC San Diego, where she earned her bachelor's degree in psychology in 2012.
In addition to playing collegiate soccer, Garland served as the girls soccer head coach at Maranatha Christian
High School in San Diego from during the 2011 and 2012 seasons. Amongst her duties as the Maranatha head
coach, Garland planned and ran practices and games, and also managed administrative
work.
Garland's first coaching experience came as a goalkeepers
coach with PQ Premier Soccer Club and La Jolla Nomads Soccer Club from
2008-12.
Garland is currently pursuing her master's
degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Nebraska at
Omaha. She works as a correctional
officer at the Douglas County Department of Correction in Omaha.
