OMAHA, Neb. (Nov. 13) - The Creighton men's soccer team jumped four spots, for the second straight week, to No. 8 in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) poll on Tuesday, Nov. 13, after claiming its 13th Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) title last weekend.

Creighton is currently on a 10-match win streak. As a result, the Bluejays have jumped 14 spots in the poll over the past month. The No. 8 position marks Creighton's highest ranking since Sept. 18 when the Jays were listed at No. 7.

It marks the 36th consecutive week that Creighton is ranked in the NSCAA Top 25. The 2010 preseason poll was the last time the Jays were not ranked.

CU stands at No. 11 in the latest Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) released by the NCAA on Sunday, Nov. 11. The Bluejays earned the No. 12 national seed a day later when the NCAA announced its selections Monday, Nov. 12.

Creighton claimed a first-round bye in the 48-team NCAA tournament and will host the winner of Thursday's Air Force at Washington match on Sunday at 5 p.m. at Morrison Stadium in Omaha.

This week the Jays held onto the top spot of the NSCAA Midwest Regional Rankings for a second straight week. Creighton moved up six spots to No. 8 in the TopDrawer Soccer rankings this week. The Bluejays moved up four spots to No. 10 in the latest College Soccer News poll.

The Soccer Times poll was unavailable at press time; last week Creighton stood at No. 11 in those rankings for a second straight week. The Soccer America Men's Top 25 was also unavailable at press time; the Jays were No. 13 in last week's rankings.

Entering the first week of the NCAA Tournament, Creighton ranks No. 8 nationally with a 0.50 shutout percentage (10-of-20 matches). The Jays also rank No. 15 in the country in save percentage (0.835) and stand at No. 16 nationally for team goals against average (0.77).

Creighton (15-3-2) earned its 20th NCAA Tournament appearance in the last 21 years by virtue of Sunday's 2-1 win over SIU Edwardsville in the MVC Tournament final. It marked Creighton's 13th MVC Tournament title, and came on the heels of the program's 12th regular-season MVC crown. The Jays claimed both trophies for the second consecutive season and for the eighth time in program history.

The Bluejays will host the winner of Thursday's Air Force (10-8-4) at Washington (12-4-3) matchup on Sunday at 5 p.m. inside Morrison Stadium.
