OMAHA, Neb. -- Ross Paule and Jody Schwartz Longballa were inducted
into the Creighton Athletic Hall of Fame during a Monday evening banquet
at the DoubleTree by Hilton Omaha Downtown Hotel.
Paule was an All-American men's soccer player in the mid-90's at Creighton, and was presented by his former head coach, Bret Simon.
Schwartz Longballa was an All-American softball player in the '80's at CU and was presented by 1987 CU Athletic Hall of Fame inductee Mary Higgins, also her former coach.
Mike & Dana Meyer were honored as Joseph J. Vinardi "Jaybackers of the Year".
In addition, women's crew standout Christine Koehler and men's cross country runner Chris Culhane were honored with the Carl M. Reinert, S.J., Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards.
For the second year in a row, Creighton honored its top teams in each gender, as the women's basketball team and the men's soccer squad were honored.
Individually, Megan Bober (Volleyball) and Ethan Finlay (men's soccer) were recognized as CU's Athletes of the Year.
