“It is a dream come true to know that my junior and senior seasons we will be competing in the new Ryan Athletic Center. I’ve played in and seen many different arenas around the country and the 2,500 seat arena that we are building will be one of the best. That is the perfect size for an incredible volleyball atmosphere. I can’t wait to get on the court and play in front of a packed house. It is incredible to know that this dream is on its way to becoming a reality.”
Jim Flanery WBB Coach
"This is an exciting time for the women's basketball and volleyball programs here at Creighton. The Ryan Athletic Center is visible proof of the commitment by our university and our community to the continued growth in opportunities for women. We are thrilled to have a venue on campus that we can call our own. I think it's a great testament to the vision of what our volleyball and women's basketball programs can become, and I believe it gives us every opportunity to build on the traditions within our women's programs. I believe the Ryan Athletic Center will soon become a place for both students and the Omaha community to come and have fun supporting the Jays!"
Kirsten Bernthal Booth VB Coach
“It truly is an exciting time to be at Creighton University and particularly as a student-athlete. With over $200 million of construction and renovations taking place on campus, it would be hard to find a more cutting-edge campus. Additionally, the growth of our athletic facilities is unprecedented. Morrison Stadium, our soccer facility, was completed in 2003 and is arguably the best soccer facility in the country. Our men’s basketball team plays in the incredible Qwest Center Omaha which was completed in 2003. This state-of-the-art facility also hosted the record breaking 2006 Volleyball Final Four and again will be hosting the Final Four in 2008. When Creighton commits to a project, they make sure it is the best. The Ryan Athletic Center, in my opinion, will be one of the top venues in the country for volleyball and women’s basketball. It is a great time to be a Bluejay!”
Kelsey Woodard Women's Basketball
"I think it is a great opportunity and we are very fortunate to be able to have our own place. It will be nice to be able to play where we practice every day and I think it will help give us even more of a home-court advantage."
