Ben McNair begins his fifth year
with Creighton University and his fourth as Head Athletic Trainer. He returns to Creighton after serving
as a graduate assistant athletic trainer from 1999-2001. During that time his primary sports
were the men’s soccer and baseball teams.
He now is the staff athletic trainer for the men’s basketball, dance,
and men’s and women’s cross country teams.
McNair spent six years in St
Louis at Missouri Baptist University, one year as an assistant athletic trainer
and five years as head athletic trainer.
In his time there he gained valuable experience by working with numerous
men’s and women’s athletic teams.
McNair graduated in 1997 from
Nebraska Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise
Science and Wellness with an emphasis in athletic training. Ben continued his education by
obtaining a Master of Arts Exercise Science degree from the University of
Nebraska – Omaha while working as the graduate assistant athletic trainer at
Creighton University.
During his undergraduate and
graduate years, McNair worked numerous summer sport camps and Fellowship of
Christian Athlete camps. He also
has helped many years with the medical coverage at the College World Series.
McNair is originally from
Imperial, Nebraska. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’
Association, Midwest Athletic Trainers’ Association and the Nebraska Athletic
Trainers’ Association. He
is an Approved Clinical Instructor as well as certified as a professional
rescuer with the American Red Cross.
He lives in Omaha with his wife Natalie and their four kids, Hannah (8),
Isaac (5), Joshua (5) and Kyra (3).
