OMAHA, Neb. - Sophomore Reagan Fowler was 8-15 (.533) with four extra base hits and eight RBI, earning the BIG EAST Player of the Week nod on Monday, April 14.
Fowler helped Creighton open its first BIG EAST season with three victories over Georgetown, posting seven hits in 11 at-bats (.636) versus the Hoyas. During the four games this week, Fowler was 8-for-15 (.533) with seven runs scored and eight RBI. He smacked four extra base hits (three doubles and a triple) all against Georgetown.
His efforts gave Creighton a 2-0 lead in the first inning of both games on Saturday, slicing a two-run double in the opener and a two-run triple in the second game of the doubleheader. In the first game on Saturday, Fowler added a bases-clearing triple in the fifth inning, which proved to be the game-winning RBI.
Fowler and the Bluejays return to action on Thursday, April 17th as Creighton begins its first road conference series as members of the BIG EAST against Villanova at 2:15 pm.

BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week SCOTT KLEVER, XAVIER Sr., RHP, Cincinnati, Ohio Klever tossed the first complete game of his career and picked up his team-leading fifth win of the season in Saturday’s 5-0 victory over Villanova. The senior righty allowed just two hits and walked one while striking out five and tossing 117 pitches. Only five Wildcats reached base against him. Klever lowered his ERA to 3.50 and is 5-3 in nine appearances.
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll MATT WARREN, CREIGHTON So., RHP, Omaha, Neb. Improved to 7-0 by tossing Creighton’s first complete game since May 22, 2012, needing 106 pitches in a 2-0 win over Georgetown on Friday. Allowed two hits and walked four, with no Hoya baserunner getting beyond second. It was the first time in his career Warren went the distance.
BRIAN BRUENING, XAVIER Jr., CF, Columbus, Ohio Hit .316 (6-for-19) at the plate for the week and was 6-for-12 (.500) in the three-game sweep of Villanova. Scored five times and drove in seven runs against the Wildcats. Went 2-for-4 with a double, a homer and four RBI in Saturday’s 5-0 win.
JOSH PREVOST, SETON HALL Sr., RHP, Belle Mead, N.J. Prevost overwhelmed NYIT, pitching an eight-inning complete game with 12 strikeouts while walking none and allowing just one hit in a 21-0 whitewash. He took a no-hitter into the seventh. He boasts a 7.67 strikeouts-to-walks ratio.
ALEX CARUSO, ST. JOHN’S So., OF, Liverpool, N.Y. Batted a team-high .583 (7-of-12) with a pair of three-hit games in a three-game sweep of Butler. Riding a five-game hitting streak, including a pair of 3-for-4 showings in games two and three. Drove in one run and scored three times in the series.
DEREK JENKINS, SETON HALL So., OF, Annandale, N.J. Batted .500 (8-for-16), scored six times, drove in three runs and went 6-for-7 in steals during Seton Hall’s 4-0 week.
JAMES LOMANGINO, ST. JOHN’S R-Sr., RHP, Ronkonkoma, N.Y. Matched a career high with a season-best 10 strikeouts in eight innings of one-run ball in a 3-1 victory over Butler. Held the Bulldogs to just four hits and a .148 average at the plate.
