Sebastian Furness
Volunteer Assistant Coach

Bringing both professional and collegiate playing experience to the bench, Sebastian Furness joined the Creighton staff in the fall of 2014 as the volunteer goalkeeping coach. Furness also begins as the director of goalkeeping for the Omaha Futbol Club this fall.

Furness played professionally for the past two seasons in Iceland. His professional career began in the spring of 2012, playing in the net for Tindastoll FC until the fall of 2013.

A graduate of West Texas A&M in 2012, Furness closed out his career as the Buffs program leader in saves (209) and shutouts (21).  As a sophomore he led NCAA Division II in save percentage with .889.

Sebastian began his coaching career 2012 as he served as the volunteer assistant for West Texas A&M, preparing game footage, doing advance scouting of future opponents and creating the daily training sessions.  Following his professional career Furness began to focus on his specialty, goalkeeping, as he served as the volunteer goalkeeper coach for the Middlesbrough Football Club in the United Kingdom.

Furness earned his United States Soccer Federation D License in early 2012 and has also received multiple goalkeeper coaching badges from the National Soccer Coaches Association.
