OMAHA, Neb. - The Creighton men's tennis team pulled double duty on Friday, March 7 as the Bluejays defeated Kansas Wesleyan (7-0) and North Dakota, 6-1.
Creighton moved to 4-2 on the season with the wins, while Kansas Wesleyan dropped to 0-2 and North Dakota fell to 2-6.
After surrendering just four games to Kansas Wesleyan in singles play in the opening match, Creighton posted four straight set victories over North Dakota in the evening match.
Head coach Tom Lilly used the two matches as an opportunity to see players in differing roles. As a result, sophomore Quinn Dippel was the lone Bluejay to nab singles victories in both matches. Dippel earned a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles against Kansas Wesleyan, then returned to his customer No. 5 slot to post a 6-0, 6-2 win over North Dakota.
Creighton returns to action on Monday, March 10 as the Bluejays begin spring break by playing the first of four neutral site matches in Orlando agaisnt St. Cloud State.
