LINCOLN, Neb. - The Creighton men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to No. 59 Nebraska on Saturday, Feb. 15 in Lincoln.
The loss dropped the Bluejays to 1-1 in 2014, while Nebraska moved to 3-2 on the year.
Creighton pushed the Huskers in doubles played as the Bluejays top-seeded doubles team of Billy Paluch and Jake Norman defeatied Nebraska’s Brandon Videtich and Bradford Zitsch 6-5 (7-4).
Unfortunately that was the lone victory of the match for the Bluejays as Creighton dropped the top five singles points in straight sets. After dropping the first set 6-1, freshman Aaron Chalstrom forced a super tiebreaker with a 6-5 (7-4) win in the second set and the No. 6 position. Chalstrom, however, was edged out 1-0 (10-8) by Bradford Zitsch.
Creighton returns to action on Thursday, Feb. 20 as the Bluejays host Omaha at 12 pm in their home opener at Hanscom Indoor Tennis Center.
