PEORIA, Ill. - The Creighton men's tennis team dropped its second straight match on Sunday, falling 5-2 at Bradley.  The Jays drop to 8-7 on the season, 0-3 in MVC play, while the Braves improve to 10-12, 1-1 in conference play.

"Our team came out strong and played some solid doubles," said head coach Tom Lilly.  "I was very pleased to sweep the doubles against a good team like Bradley but we must improve our singles play, as well as our focus and desire to win in singles."

Creighton swept through doubles play, winning all three spots to earn the automatic point going into singles.  Billy Paluch and Kyle Obermeier defeated Juan Diego Cuadrado and Justin Abrams 8-4 in the No. 1 doubles, followed by Ryan Norman and Sean Mathison defeating Ahmed Albitar and Hamish Weerasinghe 8-5 at the No. 2 doubles.

Paluch was the lone singles player to win their spot for the Bluejays, as the junior defeated Albitar 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 1 postiion.  The Braves swept through the rest of play, with the No. 3 singles the lone spot to go to three sets.  Christian and Ashton Kalhorn split the first two sets in No. 3 singles, but Kalhorn broke serve to win 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.

Weerasinghe defeated Obermeier 6-4, 6-1 at the No. 2 singles and Juan Diego Cuadrado defeated Sean Mathison 6-4, 6-2 at the No. 4 singes.  To close out play, Arthur Romanet defeated Baker 6-1, 6-3 at the No. 5 singles and Justin Abrams downed Gabe Nagy 6-2, 6-4 at No. 6 singles.

"Billy continues to play very well and that is great to have at the top position.  JT just lost by a break of serve in the third set, but also fought very hard.  Credit goes to Bradley because they were the better team today."

Creighton will be at home for the final three regular season matches of the year, beginning by hosting Nebraska Omaha on Thursday, April 12 at 1:00 pm.  Creighton hosts Southern Illinois on Saturday, April 14 before closing out the regular season on Sunday, April 22 by hosting Wichita State.
