Paluch Becomes All-Time Combined Wins Leader in Jays' Victory

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Senior Billy Paluch became the all-time leader in combined wins for the Creighton men’s tennis program with a pair of wins Monday as the Jays blanked St. Cloud State 7-0 in suburban Orlando.

Paluch swept his doubles and singles matches to claim win No. 136 and take over sole possession of first place all-time at Creighton in combined singles and doubles wins.

Creighton (5-2) won the doubles point and swept all six singles matches in straight sets over SCSU (5-8).  Impressively, no CU player gave up more than five games in singles action. The win marked the Jays’ third straight victory.

Besides Paluch, junior Elliott Baker, freshman Jake Norman and classmate Harrison Lang won their doubles and singles matches.

Sophomore Quinn Dippel and freshman Aaron Chalstrom won singles matches in straight sets, each surrendering just three games.

Sophomores August Nysted and Nick Thompson claimed doubles victories at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions, respectively.

The Creighton men’s tennis team will stay in Florida this week and will face St. Ambrose and Quinnipiac on Tuesday.
