TULSA, Okla. – Creighton men’s tennis senior Billy Paluch posted a pair of singles victories in main draw consolation action to lead three active Bluejays on Saturday on day three of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Region Championship hosted by the University of Tulsa.
Paluch gave up just two games in two matches. He scored a 6-1, 2-0 victory after opponent Trevor Horstman of Oklahoma State retired in the first round of the singles consolation draw. The redshirt senior then rolled to 6-0, 6-1 victory versus Andrea Boglic of South Dakota State to advance to the consolation quarterfinals.
CU sophomore Brandon Lee dropped his first-round consolation match to Ruben Weber of Minnesota 6-3, 6-0.
Creighton freshman Jake Norman was the lone Bluejay still active in the main draw, but he dropped a second-round match to No. 9 seed Ben Lott of Drake 6-1, 6-0.
ITA Central Region Championship play continues Sunday morning at the University of Tulsa.
