OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton Women's Golf team has signed local product Annie Pearson to a letter-of-intent. Pearson hails from Omaha and attends Elkhorn South High School, where she helped the Storm to Class B state titles in 2011 and 2012.
Pearson was ranked sixth in the Nebraska Girls Player Rankings, and
selected to the Nebraska Girls Four-State Team in 2012. She took fourth in the
2012 Nebraska PGA Junior Championship, and finished third individually
at the 2012 state meet while helping Elkhorn South to a second straight
Class B championship. She was the District B-1 individual medalist and
Eastern Midlands Conference runner-up.
Pearson was a three-time District champion and won the Nebraska Class B state individual and team title in 2011 while playing for Mimi Ramsbottom. She was a First-Team All-State selection by the Nebraska Coaches Association in 2011 and 2012, and was also a Nebraska Junior Golf Tour All-Star Team member in both 2010 and 2011. She also finished seventh at state as a sophomore when South was the Class B runner-up.
Pearson finished 21st at the state meet as a freshman at Elkhorn High School as her team took seventh in Class A.
Pearson is also a standout student, ranking second in her class of more than 200 students and serving as National Honor Society President. She'll enroll at Creighton in the fall and have four years of eligibility.
"She is a wonderful girl who should make an impact on our team and has a lot of potential still to tap," said Creighton head coach Debbie Conry.
