Women's Golf Takes Third at Titan Quad Challenge

OCOEE, Fla. -- The Creighton women opened the spring campaign with a third place finish at the Titan Quad Challenge on Monday. The four-team 18-hole event took place at the par 72, 6,100 yard Forrest Lake Golf Course in Ocoee, Fla.

The Bluejays finished with a team score of 337. Host school Detroit Mercy took top honors finishing with 319. Southern Illinois Edwardville finished second posting a 322 and IPFW finished fourth with a 349.

The Jays were led by Celeste Gassman. The junior posted the third-best score on the day with a 78. Teammate Rachel Thompson shot the second best round for the Jays with an 81. Fellow freshman Mary Cathryn Rau posted Creighton’s third-best score with an 82.

Freshman Katie Morel (96) and sophomore Emily Allison (97) also competed for the Jays team, while Bluejay junior Jill Stuckenschneider (87) participated in the challenge as an individual.

The Jays will soak up more Florida sun as they tee off on March 8-9 at the Sunshine Spring Classic in Orlando.
