OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton women’s golf team finished in a seventh-place tie as the Creighton Golf Classic wrapped up on Tuesday. The Bluejays hosted 13 other schools, including Nebraska-Omaha, Northern Iowa, Southern Illinois and Drake at the par 72, 6,080-yard Oak Hills Country Club.

The Jays finished with a 685 and dropped two slots from their first-round position to tie with Drake in the final standings. Northern Iowa took the top spot with a 635, Southern Illinois finished second, one shot behind the Panthers and South Dakota State finished third with a 659.

Amy Anderson of North Dakota State finished first with a 149. Anderson is no stranger to the top of the Classic leaderboard as this is her third straight individual title at the event. Blair Bonner of Northern Iowa finished second with a 154 and Cassie Rushing of Southern Illinois and Brittany Atterbury of Northern Iowa finished with tie for third with a 155.

Celeste Gassman was the top golfer in the Creighton clubhouse with her fifth top-10 finish of the season. The junior finished eighth in the 82-player field, posting a 160. Junior Jill Stuckenschneider ended day two the way she ended day one, in a tie for 26^th. She finished with a 170.

After the upperclassmen finished the freshmen took over. Rachel Thompson finished tied for 49^th with a 178. Katie Morel shot a 181 and finished tied for 56^th. Mary Cathryn Rau finished just one shot behind Morel and tied for 62^nd.
Sophomore Emily Allison, competing in the Classic as an individual, also finished tied for 56^th shooting a 181.

Also noteworthy on Tuesday was the tee shot of Western Illinois' sophomore Kristi Tschudin, who used a five-iron to ace the par-3, 165-yard 12th hole.

The next stop for the Jays is Terre Haute, Ind. The ladies compete in the State Farm MVC Women’s Golf Championship, April 22-24.
