-- The Creighton men’s golf team finished 14th at the TSU Big Blue Intercollegiate on Tuesday. The 14-team event took place at the par-72 7,157 yard Hermitage Golf Club.
Among the participants were host school Tennessee State, Southern Illinois, Missouri State and South Dakota.
Creighton finished with a team score of 923 (316+297+310).
Tennessee-Martin won the tournament with an 870. Southern Illinois (875) finished second and Belmont (884) third. UT-Martin’s Brendon Caballero finished first overall with a score of 210. Missouri State’s Mitch Mather (215) and Southern Illinois’ Caleb Harms (215) tied for second.
The Jays were led by Kade Brown
. The freshman finished tied for 27th with a 224. Junior Johnny Spellerberg
finished tied for 36th with a 226. Freshman Andrew Holloway
’s 236 left him in a tie for 65th. Sophomore Tommy Anderson
(T-72nd, 240) and junior Richard Schneider
(81st, 253) both had strong showings for the Jays.
The Jays shift their focus to the Big East Championships April 27-29 in Callawassie Island, S.C.
