Men's Golf Takes Fifth at Jackrabbit Fall Invitational

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The Creighton men’s golf team finished fifth at the Jackrabbit Fall Invite on Tuesday. The eight-team event took place at the par-71 6,424 yard Minnehaha Country Club. The field included host school South Dakota State, North Dakota State, South Dakota, Northern Iowa, North Dakota, Sioux Falls and Augustana College.

Creighton finished with a team score of 897 (302+306+289).

Hudson Carpenter of South Dakota State finished first with a 207 (69+70+68). Alex Kline (72+72+65=209) of South Dakota and Northern Iowa’s Kyle Driscoll (73+73+65=211) finished second and third respectively.

The Jays had two golfers in the top 20 and four in the top 25, led by Johnny Spellerberg. He finished tied for 14th with a 222 (75+79+68). Richard Schneider finished tied for 19th with a 224 (75+75+74). Andrew Holloway finished third for the Jays. He shot a 225 (75+77+73) which placed him in a tie for 22nd.

Tommy Anderson (77+75+75=227) and Kade Brown (79+80+74=233) both had strong showings for the Jays.

The Jays compete again on Sept. 30 at the Jim Colbert Intercollegiate in Manhattan, Kan.
