COLUMBIA, Mo. -- The Creighton men's golf team finished tied for 14th at the C.O.G Mizzou Intercollegiate on Tuesday. The 54-hole tournament took place at The Club at Old Hawthorne, a par-72 7,221-yard course in Columbia, Mo. Among the 15 teams who participated were Nebraska, South Dakota State, Northern Iowa and host school Missouri.
Creighton finished with a team score of 304-312-319=935.
For the second straight year, Missouri won the team competition at the meet. The Tigers finished first with an 856. Iowa State (876) finished second and Austin Peay State (880) came in third. Individually, Ryan Zech of Missouri took first place shooting a 208. Dustin Korte (210) of Austin Peay State and Nate McCoy (211) of Iowa State finished second and third, respectively.
Kevin Stanek was the top golfer for the Jays. The senior finished in the top-20 for the third time this spring when he tied for 19th with a 224. Junior John Rasmussen finished the event tied for 52nd with a 232. Senior Austin Miller tied for 69thand shot a 237 for the tournament. Fellow senior Jack Dressen shot a 248 and finished tied for 79th. Sophomore Collin Craft finished only a few spots behind at 82nd with a 250.
Next up for the Jays is the Boilermaker Invitational on April 21-22 in West Lafayette, Ind.
