ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. -- The Creighton men's golf team finished third at the Lamkin Grip/Cal Poly Invitational in Arroyo Grande, Calif., on Friday. The Jays recorded team totals of 296 and 305 in the two-round event played over two days at the par-72, 6,803-yard Cypress Ridge Golf Course. Host Cal Poly defeated Sacramento State in a playoff to capture the team title.

The Jays were led by junior Austin Miller. He carded rounds of 73 and 71 to finish with an even-par 144. Miller's second-round 71 was his fifth round of par or better in 2010-11 and only one stroke off his season-best mark of 70.

Creighton sophomore John Rasmussen and freshman Collin Craft were the Jays' next-best finishers. They both recorded two-round totals of 152 to tie for 16th place. Rasmussen put together back-to-back rounds of 76, while Craft used rounds of 74 and 78.

Juniors Kevin Stanek and Ben Lowman rounded out the team scoring for the Jays. Stanek tied for 20th after rounds of 73 and 80, while Lowman shot rounds of 78 and 80, good for a tie for 25th place.

The Jays are back on the course April 3-5 at the UMB Bank Missouri Intercollegiate in Columbia, Mo.
