Jays vs. North Dakota
Creighton has a 5-2 series edge on North Dakota,
including a 16-3 victory on March 17, 2012.  The first meeting between the two teams came in 1980 (a Bluejay win, 4-3).  Coach Servais has a 3-2 mark versus North Dakota.  Creighton took two of the three meetings between the two squads last season.

Just North Dakota
Transitioning from their former nickname, the Fighting Sioux, North Dakota does not presently use a moniker.

Scouting North Dakota (7-5-1)

Entering the game against Wichita State on Wednesday, March 13, North Dakota is 7-5-1 in 2013.  The squad is in the midst of a 29-game road string as North Dakota will not play a home game until April 19.  North Dakota will finish a stretch of six games in seven days against the
Bluejays on Thursday that began on Friday, March 8 with a three-series at Nebraska Omaha.  North Dakota took two of three from the Mavericks.

North Dakota will likely use several pitchers against the Bluejays.  This season North Dakota has used 11 pitchers, including six different starters.
Offensively the team is hitting a combined .260, led by
senior Kris Kwak, junior Patrick Riewer and sophomore Patrick Vandoorne.  The two Patricks have a combined 21 hits in 66 at-bats, including five doubles.  Kwak, meanwhile, leads North Dakota with 10 RBI in 2013.

Jays vs. Pacific

Creighton and Pacific have met four times previously, with the Jays holding a 3-1 advantage.  The first meeting between the squads came in 1996, a 14-5 Creighton win.  Last season the Jays traveled to Stockton, Calif. taking two-of-three from the host Tigers.

Scouting Pacific (5-10)
The Tigers wrap-up their season long 12-day road trip with three games against the Bluejays from March 15-17.  Pacific opened the trip by taking one-of-three at TCU, then dropped a midweek game at Oklahoma State (11-3) on Tuesday, March 12.

Starting pitching is the strength of the Tigers, led by Saturday and Sunday starters Cory Popham and Michael Benson.  Popham is 1-0 with a 2.25 and is holding opposing hitters to a .262 average.  Benson, meanwhile is 2-0 (1.78 ERA) with a victory over
Arkansas this season (4-3 on March 3).  Last season the Jays touched Bensen up for five runs in two
innings.

Offensively the Tigers are hitting .256 as a team, but sophomore Erik Lockwood and junior Jason
Taasaas can be formidable.  Lockwood leads Pacific with a .383 average (18 hits in 47 at-bats), while Taasaas is the only other Tiger over .300 (.319).
