Position: Head Strength & Conditioning Coach

Dan Bailey has been directing the Creighton University Strength and Conditioning program since March 22, 2010.  He is assisted by Brad Schmidt and graduate assistants Jake Martinez and Bailey Dawson.  Bailey is a graduate of the University of Nebraska and brings over 20 years experience coaching at the division I level at the University of Tennessee, the University of Akron and Creighton University.

Bailey is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, as well as a certified sports performance coach by USA Weightlifting.

"The Strength and Conditioning program at Creighton University is designed to help the athletes become strong and powerful," Bailey said.  "The program combines Olympic lifts, strength training exercises, plyometrics, speed and agility development, flexibility, and cardiovascular regimes, specifically tailored to each athlete, the sport they participate in and to their individual experience and ability. The goal of the program is to reduce the chance of injury and to help each athlete reach their full potential."

Creighton athletes train in one of two strength training facilities located in the Vinardi and Ryan Athletic Centers.  Both weight rooms are equipped with Power Lift strength training equipment and Iron Grip weights and dumbbells.
