Warren and Fowler Earn Louisville Slugger All-America Honors

TUCSON, Ariz. - Sophomores Matt Warren and Reagan Fowler each nabbed All-America honors from Collegiate Baseball/Louisville Slugger on Thursday, May 29.  Warren was named to the All-America Second Team, while Fowler claimed Third Team recognition.

Warren posted a 10-1 record with a 2.03 ERA, third best in the BIG EAST, in 12 starts in 2014. On the season he appeared in 14 games, tossing a team best 84.1 innings.  Warren walked just 25 batters while striking out 45 and yielding 62 hits. His 6.62 hits-allowed-per-nine-innings ranked second in the conference.  Matt tossed one complete game, limiting Georgetown to a mere two hits in nine innings on April 11 and was named to the All-BIG EAST First Team.

The BIG EAST Co-Player of the Year, Fowler led the Bluejays with a .362 average, 16 doubles, three triples and a .464 on-base percentage.  Reagan also earned a BIG EAST All-Tournament selection, was a All-BIG EAST First Team selection and led Creighton with five game-winning RBI.  In addition, Fowler is in contention for a Gold Glove, committing just two errors for a .997 fielding percentage in 2014.

The last time the Bluejays had two All-America selections was in 2011 when Trever Adams and Jonas Dufek earned the honors.  Adams was a Second Team pick by ABCA/Rawlings as well as Baseball America, NCBWA, as well as a Third Team pick by Collegiate Baseball.  Dufek, meanwhile, was a third team selection by ABCA/Rawlings and Collegiate Baseball.
