35 Sam Norman

  • Sam made his Bluejay debut tossing an inning of scoreless relief in the
  • Bluejays’ 10-8 win over Stephen F. Austin on May 13.  Sam needed just seven pitches to record three outs.

  • Sam used his redshirt option in 2013.

  • Norman was an all-around athlete for the Roughriders, earning letters in baseball (four), basketball (three) and football (one).  
  • Sam posted a 2-1 record as a senior, allowing six earned runs in 17.1 innings (3.12 ERA) in six games, including five starts.
  • At the dish in 2012, Norman closed his high school career with a .317 average, with 19 extra-base hits (15 doubles, one triple and three home runs).
  • The southpaw didn’t pitch in his junior season due to an injury, but earned Second Team All-State honors at first base after finishing the season with a .398 batting average.
