OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton men's cross country team has been named to the list of U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association NCAA scholar teams.
One year after leading the country with a 3.67 GPA, the Creighton men's cross country team had the second-best GPA at 3.72. Chattanooga was tops at 3.81.
Creighton's women's cross country squad would have been fifth at 3.74, but did not field a full team at Regionals, a requirement to be considered. Last year the Bluejay women were tied for 10th nationally with a 3.64 GPA.
For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Championship and also have a minimum 3.00 team cumulative GPA.
Both Bluejay cross country teams are coached by Chas Davis.
