BOISE, Idaho - The Bluejays' women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to Boise State on Sunday, Aug. 25 to fall to 0-2 in 2013.

The win evened Boise State's record at 1-1.

Creighton fell behind 1-0 in the opening period when Rebe Wolverton scored late in the first half at 41:46. Wolvertson blast a pass from Anna Popma from 40 yards out to record her first goal of the year.

The score remained 1-0 until the closing moments of the second half as the Jays got on the board for the first time in 2013 in the 82nd minute via freshman Paige Jarsombeck as she capitalized on a scrum in front of the goal.  Sophomore Alissa Kohmetscher was credited with the assist to tie the match.

Kohmetscher sent a pass to Jarsombeck's right foot, which Paige blasted off Boise State keeper, Maddy McDevitt.

Boise State, however, responded with the game-winning goal in the 87th minute off the foot of Brooke Heidemann from 25 yards away at 86:27.

The Broncos outshot Creighton 11-7 in the contest and also held a 2-1 edge on corner kicks.

Creighton keeper, Danielle Rice, nabbed five saves in the loss.  McDevitt, meanwhile, finished with three.

"The team that played today was the team we know can be successful," said head coach Bruce Erickson. "We played with great heart and determination and were very unlucky to not have won. Credit to Boise State for just being a little better."

Creighton returns home to face North Dakota (Aug. 30) and Northern Colorado (Sept. 1) next weekend.  The first match against North Dakota will begin at 5:00 p.m., while the Northern Colorado match starts at 3:00 p.m.
