ST. LOUIS, Mo. - For the first time this season, the Creighton women's soccer team has picked up two player of the week awards in the same week, as Alicia Montgomery was named the MVC Goalkeeper of the Week and Andrea Zuniga tabbed MVC Offensive Player of the Week.   It marks the third time this season Montgomery has earned the award and the first for Zuniga.

Montgomery picked up two more shutouts last week, recording the wins in both of Creighton's 1-0 MVC wins last week.  In the first match of the week at Drake, Montgomery picked up 11 saves, the second time this season she has had 10+ in a single match.  She recorded what head coach Bruce Erickson said was possibly the biggest save of the season late in the match to preserve the 1-0 win.  She then picked up her sixth shutout of the season, 21st of her Bluejay career, against Indiana State on Senior Day.

Montgomery now holds a 0.77 goals against average, the best in the league, while also holding a .892 save percentage and six shutouts (first and second in the MVC, respectively).  She holds a career 0.72 goals against average, placing her atop the Creighton all-time charts and second on the Valley all-time charts.

Zuniga led the Bluejays offensively in the two conference wins last week, netting two match-winning goals on the week.  She scored her first goal in the 69th minute of a scoreless battle at Drake, deflecting a ball off the goalie's hands and into the net.  She led the Jays that day with six shots, three on goal.  Int he Indiana State game, Zuniga again led the team offensively, rifling off nine of the 13 shots on the day.  She connected in the 67th minute of play, driving a shot into the upper left corner of the goal for Creighton's lone goal in the match.

Zuniga now has seven career match-winning goals, three this season.  She leads the team and is second in the MVC in shots (55), averaging 3.44 per match.  She has five goals on the season, second on the team, and one assist for 11 points this season.

Creighton travels to Illinois State on Thursday for the final match of the regular season.  A win will give the Jays at least a share of the MVC regular season crown, while a tie would still keep them in contention as well as give them one of the top two seeds in the MVC Tournament, which would give them a first round bye.  Kickoff is set for 3:00 p.m. from Normal.
