Chris Dunford joined the Creighton women’s soccer staff in the fall of 2012 as the Director of Soccer Operations. He transitioned tot the Volunteer Assistant Coach role in 2013. With the Bluejays, Dunford is instrumental in preparing scouting reports on each opponent and planning coaching sessions with the staff. Dunford also helps plan and execute community camps and tournaments with local youth teams.
Another of Dunford’s responsibilities at Creighton is updating the Jays’ social media sites. Dunford also works closely with Creighton assistant coach Digger Hawkins with the Gretna Soccer Club. Dunford serves as a premier team coach and club trainer for Gretna Soccer.
Before coming to Creighton, Dunford was a soccer coach in Morristown, New Jersey (2008-11) working with UK Elite Soccer Inc, Advanced Total Soccer, Princeton Soccer Association and the Mount Olive Soccer club. Dunford also served as a coach for Brazilian Soccer Schools in Lichfield, England (2008) and as an assistant for the women’s team at Nebraska Wesleyan in 2007.
Dunford earned his bachelors in coach education and sports development at University of Bath in 2006. His connection to Nebraska began as an undergraduate when he spent the 2004-05 academic year studying abroad at University of Nebraska.
