Women's Soccer Picked to Finish Eighth in BIG EAST 2014 Preseason Poll

The Creighton women's soccer team was picked to finish eighth in the BIG EAST 2014 Preseason Coaches Poll on Wednesday, Aug. 13.

With a 9-8-1 finish to 2013, Creighton posted its 11th winning season in head coach Bruce Erickson’s 14 years.  The season was highlighted by a seven-match winning streak and a 2-1-1 league start to the initial season as members of the BIG EAST Conference.  Creighton, however, closed BIG EAST play with five consecutive losses.

Marquette, the two-time defending BIG EAST Champions, were picked to the win the 2014 BIG EAST women’s soccer regular-season crown.  The Preseason All-BIG EAST Team also was announced.  Coaches were not permitted to vote for their own players or their own team.
