OMAHA, Neb. - Creighton's Marissa Janning was named to the 2013 Full Court Freshman All-American Third Team on Sunday, April 7, recognizing her as one of the top 15 freshman women's basketball players in the nation.
Janning becomes the Bluejays' first Freshman All-American in program history.  She was named the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Freshman of the Year and to the All-MVC First Team at the conference tournament in mid-March.
Despite not moving into the starting lineup until the final third of the season, Janning led Creighton in scoring with 417 points (12.6 per game).  Her 74 three-pointers led Creighton and she finished 25th in the country in three-point percentage at 38.9 (74-of-190), the highest mark for a freshman.
