OMAHA, Neb. -- Carol Ketcham has been promoted to Senior Woman Administrator at Creighton, making her the top-ranking female administrator in the school’s Athletic Department. Creighton Director of Athletics Bruce Rasmussen announced the move today.
Ketcham will retain her other daily responsibilities as Director of Athletic Development as well, which includes marketing, sales, fundraising and other duties related to external operations.
Ketcham came to Creighton in the fall of 1970 and has served in a variety of capacities over the past 39 years. Her jobs have ranged from secretary, administrative assistant, athletic ticket manager, compliance, special events coordinator and her current role of director of special events. She also plays a major role in the University’s role as host of the Men’s College World Series each June.
As the director of special events over the past 10 years, Ketcham has seen the annual Bluejay Jamboree become the department’s top single-day fundraiser, raising over $300,000 annually in recent years.
Ketcham was awarded the Creighton University Distinguished Services Administrator Award in 1990 and the school’s Leader for Life award in 2007.
Ketcham replaces Sharon Hanson, who resigned in April.
