Julie Tuttle begins her third year with Creighton University Athletic Training in 2008-09. She is responsible for the prevention and care of athletic injuries for the Women’s Basketball team and the Women’s Crew team. She also oversees the Graduate Assistant for the Women’s Volleyball team.
Julie comes to Creighton University after being an Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Houston. While an Assistant at the University of Houston, she worked primarily with the Women’s Basketball team, supervised the Graduate Assistants covering women’s sports, and assisted with Football rehabilitation.
Prior to becoming an Assistant, Julie completed her Graduate Assistant position within the University of Houston Athletic Training Department. Her primary sports responsibilities were Women’s Volleyball and Softball. During this time she earned her Masters Degree in Sports Administration.
In 2003 Julie graduated from the University of Nebraska with her degree in Athletic Training and earned her certification as an Athletic Trainer. During her time at the University of Nebraska, she worked with Women’s Basketball, Women’s Soccer, Women’s Swimming and Diving, and Football.
In 1991 Julie graduated from Creighton University with her Bachelor of Social Work degree and practiced Social Work for several years in Illinois and the Omaha area before returning to school to pursue Athletic Training.
Julie is originally from Pocahontas, IA. She is a Certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainer’s Association and has been a member since 2002. She is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association since 2005. Julie is an Approved Clinical Instructor and CPR/AED certified.
