KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Two members of the 2013-14 Creighton men's basketball team have been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court. The NABC honored Geoffrey Groselle and Ethan Wragge.
The NABC Honors Court recognizes those collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the 2013-14 season. The NABC Honors Court recognizes the talents and gifts that these men possess off the court, and the hard work they exhibit in the classroom.
A record number 895 student-athletes form 335 colleges and universities earned NABC Honors Court distinction. Creighton had two of the six men recognized by the NABC from the BIG EAST Conference, as St. John's and Seton Hall each had a pair of men to earn the accolade.
In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows: 1. Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player. 2. Cumulative G.P.A. of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2013-14 academic year. 3. Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution. 4. Member of an NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution.
Wragge was a triple major (Finance/Marketing/Entrepreneurship) in the Heider College of Business and graduated in May, while Groselle is also in the Heider College of Business as a Finance major.
Creighton went 27-8 last season, advancing to the third round of the NCAA Tournament for the third straight year.
